Supporting the Fight

Because of my own experience with Multiple Sclerosis, I am passionate about the Walk MS events that take place throughout the country. This month, I have been working with a sponsor team for the walks held in several cities in Northern California. I love meeting people and talking with them about their personal journey with this condition. Although the demographics of participants were as different as the climate in each city, and although one person might be walking in memory of a loved one gone while another person walked with a dear friend who was newly diagnosed, one thing was the exactly the same: their reason to participate in the event was to support the fight.

As a speaker for Christian women’s groups, I am reminded of this truth—when I visit a group, the topic of what I speak on may be different each time. I may have different styles of telling the story, or speaking on the topic. But one thing is always the same. The reason I do it is to introduce women to Jesus Christ. One group might have a cooler “climate,” and be harder to reach while another group may be of a warmer “climate,” but I still strive to do the same thing at each group.

I am treating this thought as a heavenly reminder to be encouraged as I support the fight of helping women make their most important decision ever—it isn’t always an easy journey, but the rewards are eternal!
